Milk is collected from our dairy farmers on a daily basis, going into our manufacturing process in a very short time and under optimum conditions.
These one hundred years of our Cooperative’s activity have always been marked by our obsession for quality.
The distinctive feature of our organization is that our milk is collected from our dairy farmers on a daily basis, going into our manufacturing process in a very short time and under optimum conditions. In keeping with our principle of enhancing the traditional taste of our products, we have adapted and refined our artisanal manufacturing processes to maintain the essences of everything we make.
Thanks to our strict adherence to this commitment of offering products of the very highest quality, CADÍ has obtained two Protected Designations of Origin (PDOs): Cadí butter and Urgèlia cheese. This has been achieved through the efforts of 80 dairy farms of the Alt Urgell and Cerdanya regions, which provide us each day with some 190,000 liters of milk, allowing us to process a total of 70 million liters a year.
The process has been achieved with 80 farms in the counties of Alt Urgell and Cerdanya, which provide almost 190,000 liters of milk daily.
Between 1940 and 1960, cheese marketed in large towns, such as Barcelona, gained a great reputation.
Combining tradition and technology, this process as a whole has permitted us to win a number of important distinctions that certify our quality. In the case of Cadí butter and Urgèlia cheese, these distinctions include the Protected Designations of Origin (PDOs) as well as the “World Cheese Awards” for Neu del Cadí in 2017, and for Urgèlia and Flor del Cadí in 2018.
Another secret of these one hundred years of activity is the trust placed in our products by consumers, acknowledging the added value provided by our traceability system and our manufacturing quality.
