The Cooperative was established in La Seu d’Urgell over one hundred years ago, in October of 1915.

Its was founded by Josep Zulueta i Gomis with the help of a group of far-sighted farmers, and it was the first dairy cooperative to be organized in Spain. CADÍ reflects the effort and drive of a group of people united around an idea: to create a new model of local agricultural activity with prospects for the future, a model that would permit people to remain rooted in their territory. The Cooperative thus marked the start of a socioeconomic restructuring project for the farming families of the region. Ever since then, milk has been the veritable engine of change here.

CADÍ’s dairy farming partners are all based in the Alt Urgell and Cerdanya regions.
