Food Safety Policy

Food Safety Policy

At the CADÍ Cooperative, founded in 1915, we collect our partners’ milk every day. This allows us to provide full assurance of the source and quality of our milk and of all our products, while upholding the tradition and essence of the Pyrenees Mountains, where we are established. To valorize the price paid for the milk to our dairy farmers, we transform it into different cheeses, butter, mató whey cheese and other dairy products. What’s more, we produce two special items, Urgèlia cheese and CADÍ butter, bearing the prestigious seal of our Protected Designation of Origen.

We watch out carefully for our food safety, applying the standard ISO 22000:2018 version. In addition to assuring the safety and hygiene of foods, this standard covers other key aspects of the food chain, including nutrition, labelling, traceability, animal health and the environment.

Specifically, the Management of CADÍ SCCL firmly and continuously undertakes to:

  • Provide our customers and consumers with safe products of the highest quality to meet their needs and requirements, adapting our offering to the market’s demands.
  • Establish and review our food safety goals, devoting all the necessary human, technological and financial resources to achieve them.
  • Enhance our management system in order to assure the safety of the foods we produce, taking suitable action in all phases of production.
  • Comply with the applicable food safety requirements, including all the pertinent legal and regulatory standards and the requirements established by mutual agreement with our customers.
  • Facilitate our internal and external communication mechanisms.
  • Uphold our food safety culture, promoting the involvement of everyone who forms part of our organization and providing them with the necessary tools to optimize their training and safety at work. In particular, we make every effort to assure the competence of all our personnel in matters of food safety.
  • Keep our organization informed of the latest updates of the legal standards, of customers’ requirements, and of new technologies, in order to constantly upgrade our production of safe foods.
  • Report and continuously review all risks associated with the authenticity of raw materials and our finished products.
  • Advise our Cooperative’s partners on the enhancement of their milk’s quality in order to assure the highest standards and the continued maintenance of the Animal Welfare certification of each of their dairy farms.
  • Monitor compliance with the Integral Sustainability Decalogue of the Agrifood Industry in order to raise our standards of achievement to ever higher levels.
  • Move towards a sustainable and regenerative business model that follows standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. These standards define the best social, environmental and corporate governance practices.

The Management expressly communicates this policy to all the people who form part of our organization and to those who act in its name, undertaking to make a yearly review in order to keep the policy up to date, while providing all the necessary resources to implement it.
